The Boy From Manfucia is a fictional book about a refugee, who is being convicted of war crimes relating to his inflamatory poetry, fleeing a war torn country, and the story of the lawyer who has to decipher the case and determine his innocence. 

The book book cover evokes feelings of oppression, violence, destruction and catastrophy. The composition hones in on the hand of the main character, grasping at his poem as the world around him burns. It is framed by the porthole of the boat he travelled in, giving us a glimpse into the life and trauma of this refugee. You can purchase and read the book, by Sam Charlton, here.
