Typography / Print / Letterpress

A limited edition publication filled with collected stories. Memories can fade over time; this little book captures them permanently so that they are not lost forever. Each story is written exactly as it was told, preserving the personality and essence of the story and teller.  I used traditional letterpress wood blocks to create the typographic compostions that accompany each story. The letterpress reflects the human and personal nature of stories since it is a physical and hand made method of printing. Just like the teller of a story, each wooden block has had its own journey and therefore a distinct personality. You can see traces of the journey through the defects, marks and texture of each letter. I felt this beautiful method of printing gave a more humanising and intimate feel to the publication.
